Welcome to Perspective
Well where did Summer 2018 go? It’s been a gloriously sunny one , the hottest on record; and as temperatures soared so did the activity here at Penna.
On 25th July we announced our acquisition of Stafford Long, the 30 year old commercial creative recruitment businesses founded by Paul Stafford and Barbara Kelly. We’re delighted to welcome the brand and team to the Adecco and Penna family and we look forward to working with them to support the further growth of their highly regarded brand and creative offer. The company will remain separate to Penna in order to ensure it can continue to provide the unique style of service and creativity highly sought after by their clients.
As we entered the summer months we also received the good news that once again our Interim business had made the Top 5 in the Institute of Interim Managers annual survey and that x of our consultants had been recognised in the Top 20. Congratulations go to the whole team and particularly Anthony Lewis, Toni Hall and Philippa Watkins for being outstanding in their industry.
The good weather was very welcome at our annual glamping conference (picture) where we celebrated the first half events of 2018 and held our annual employee awards. Not sure if the gin van or the weather were the key to success, but it was a great conference and a timely reminder of our We are Family motto as we took time to catch up, chill out and have some fun.
And as we ended the summer (although let’s hope we have an Indian one) we were delighted to launch our Workforce Advisory Board made up of HR and leadership professionals from across the public sector. Chair Mike Cooke, Chief Executive of Camden Council and Althea Loderick, Chief Operations Officer of Brent Council lead a great debate at the first meeting and we look forward to creating further discussion and raising the conversation with senior leaders about the need for improved workforce planning in the future.
Lastly as we run into Autumn we are delighted to see that the sunshine has helped our Assessment and Sourcing teams grow rapidly, with a number of major client and project wins. The appetite for direct sourcing of candidates to guarantee quality not just quantity is growing and we’re able to provide this service inhouse to support or replace attraction campaigns. Our Assessment work in leadership selection and development, and the use of technology and virtual reality are high in demand and we’re proud to be launching some unique tools for our clients this year that we know will improve the effectiveness of their selection.
