About the role

Interim Head of Deposits (min 6 mths FTC)

Reporting to the Head of Customer Delivery. The Head of Deposits is responsible for monitoring the market for potential deposit taker failures and responding within SLAs where needed and undertaking quality assurance checks on SCV. Responsible for contributing to the default strategy and end-to-end process for deposit claims– from activity relating to the events prior to a firm failing, completion of the customer’s claim, providing necessary information for recoveries – through leading a team of operational practitioners and working collaboratively with the Heads of Resolution and Claims Handling Partners who will be required to respond to significant deposit taker failures.

Reporting to the Head of Customer Delivery, the Head of Deposits will:

• Lead the management of potential deposit taker failures and respond within SLAs, while overseeing and assuring quality standards across SCV.

• Contribute to the effective and fair resolution of deposit claims, from early triage to distribution of compensation to eligible customers.

• Provide strategic leadership and operational direction to the Deposits function, ensuring resilience, efficiency, and customer confidence.

• Lead a team of experienced practitioners, supporting their development and fostering a high-performance culture.

• Collaborate closely with FSCS colleagues, the Head of Resolution, and Claims Handling Partners to deliver operational readiness for significant deposit taker failures.

You will bring:

• A proven record of senior leadership in change delivery and transformation.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level, both internally and externally.

• Strong understanding of:

• Depositor protection frameworks, including SCV and depositor payout processes.

• Operational procedures, legal/technical analysis, and the challenges of managing complex deposit taker cases.
