A new era is beginning in Cheshire and Warrington. The establishment of the Cheshire & Warrington Combined Authority (CWCA) marks a pivotal moment in our region’s journey toward greater autonomy, collaboration, and prosperity.

Cheshire and Warrington is one of the most dynamic economies in the North of England, with a strong track record of growth and innovation and the CWCA will build on these strengths to deliver inclusive growth, improved transport, and better outcomes for residents.

Once established – potentially as early as February 2026 – the new Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority will have greater control over key areas such as transport, housing, skills, and economic growth.

The Interim Chief Executive will help set up and shape the new authority during its formative year and lead the organisation through until after the mayoral elections and the appointment of permanent staff.

This key opportunity will help to realise the benefits of devolution—bring decision-making closer to communities, unlock investment, and drive inclusive growth across our region.
