Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an exceptional finance leader to become its Treasurer and statutory Section 151 Officer.

This is far more than a traditional finance role. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will help shape the future of one of the UK’s largest Fire and Rescue Services, influencing major strategic decisions, driving long-term financial resilience and helping deliver an ambitious programme of organisational transformation.

Working alongside the Chief Fire Officer, Fire Authority and Executive Leadership Team, you will provide outstanding financial leadership whilst helping to shape investment in our people, estate, fleet, technology and future capabilities.

You will combine statutory responsibility with strategic influence, ensuring sound governance whilst supporting innovative, creative and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing modern public services.

We are looking for an inspirational leader with outstanding financial credibility, excellent strategic judgement and the confidence to influence at the highest level.

Whether your experience has been gained within local government, the wider public sector or another complex organisation, you will be recognised as someone who sees opportunities rather than obstacles and who understands that finance should enable ambition, not constrain it.

This is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact within an organisation that protects more than 900,000 people across almost two-thirds of Wales.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to help shape the future of an essential public service whilst contributing as a valued member of a collaborative Executive Leadership Team, we would be delighted to hear from you. We are an equal opportunities employer and actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
