Dawar Hashmi joins Penna as Director in our Executive Search Business

Penna is delighted to announce that in February, Dawar Hashmi will be joining us as a
Director in our Executive Search business.

Dawar joins Penna after 23 years of experience working for large global businesses, as well as
boutique recruitment agencies. Prior to joining Penna, Dawar was a Partner within Green Park’s Civil
Society and Government Practice. He brings a wealth of executive level recruitment experience
across the public sector including Local Government, Central Government, and Health. His work on
diversity and leadership is truly exceptional, having been a prominent figure on the national agenda
on EDI, he founded the Diversity in Local Government Leadership network comprising several key sector leaders, and served as a Board member with The Staff College, among other things.
He says, “It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey so far and I feel proud of my achievements.”

When the opportunity to work with Penna presented itself, Dawar could not say no:
“I’m really excited about joining the Penna team. When I look at the executive search marketplace,
particularly in local government, there is only one name that stands out from the crowd for me and
that is Penna.”

What attracted him to Penna was “the brand equity the firm has, the unwavering focus on local
government (a sector which is so close to my heart), and a truly genuine commitment to equality,
diversity and inclusion. A lot has improved, but there is so much more to do! There is simply no place
better to be than with the market leader.”

Dawar is all set to work closely with our Managing Director Julie Towers and the Executive Search
Director Ben Cox. Julie said, “We are delighted to welcome Dawar to Penna. In an increasingly competitive market, his experience and credibility will enable us to further our growth, and our leadership role in improving diversity and inclusion. We are confident that Dawar will not only help us strengthen our presence in sectors where we are well- established but also develop our offer and market presence in other areas such as Central Government, Health and Housing.”

Dawar will begin his new role with us in February. To get in touch with him, and find out more about Penna's Executive Search offer:
