Under her leadership, Breckland Council navigated complex challenges, including the dissolution of a strategic partnership, revitalising the planning, and building control contract and leading innovative community projects.

Knowsley Council: Council of the Year

Knowsley Council’s achievements amidst significant social and economic challenges are remarkable. Serving in the UK’s second most deprived local authority area, their ambitious vision focuses on effective support, inclusive growth, and tackling the climate emergency.

Proactive initiatives, such as the Knowsley Better Together Hardship Fund and Public Health Winter Wellness Programme, provide critical support to residents. Their investment in economic growth and regeneration, including the Shakespeare North Playhouse, has driven significant economic benefits and community pride. Knowsley’s climate action initiatives and robust financial management exemplify their forward-thinking approach.
