We can't wait to see you (D)evolve - Penna at the DCN Conference
Penna, alongside our many district council partners is looking forward to one the most eagerly anticipated District Council Networks in recent years. This year’s conference is on the 6th and 7th February at Chesford Grange near Kenilworth – very aptly in the heart of the country, the conference will bring the new agenda to life at the heart of local government - the districts.
The importance of Districts:
Districts are arguably a highly visible cog in the local government network. Many of the touchpoint for residents come directly from the work of the districts. From leisure to recreation, to planning and housing.
Great work is coming out at district level, in spite of the pressures on the public sector. Indeed much of the innovation taking place in the public sector is coming from the District Council network. Just this week, Warwick District Council has been praised for their plans to hold a referendum on whether to raise council tax to generate around £3million a year for a Climate Action Fund – the first of its kind in the country.
District Councils, Meet Penna
This DCN conference will find our Penna team in Kenilworth, networking with executives in the space.
We look forward to hearing about the role of our districts in the sustainable delivery of key local services; the devolving of powers to where they are most effective and in touch with their communities; and highlighting the role districts can take in being the catalyst for a more achievable and bite-sized chunk approach to climate change.
As ever, we look forward to meeting councillors and officers alike, old friends and new, and bringing some more innovative solutions to the table.
